What is a documentary? A documentary (to me) is a film or series consisting of actual footage and/or reenactments of real life events, places and people to create a narrative, however true or false from the facts, for the understanding of the general viewer. Expository documentaries: The key points of what makes an expository documentary are: A voice over narrator who's purpose it is to give meaning to the images seen by the audience. Voice over provides facts to accompany the images. The images used compliment the voice over the same way the voice over compliments the images. The primary objective of an expository documentary is to represent the subject matter in a transparent way. The example I've picked is the BBC's 'The Blue Planet' (2001). Observational documentary - High School Unobtrusive construction and depictions - Whole documentary focuses on a day a...

The title sequence has a couple of clips pop up with various filters, ending on a video of wind turbines accompanied with some funky music. There were a fair few stories, starting with the coronavirus update before moving on to a more light hearted story about an older gentleman helping out his community. It flipped back and forth between good and bad stories with the weather report about halfway through. April 23rd: April 23rd is Shakespeare Day, as well as St. George’s Day. News values: News values are “Criteria that influence the selection and presentation of events as published news”. The 12 values are: Frequency - shorter solved stories are preferred over longer developed stories like famines and droughts. An example of this is Captain Tom Moore's 100th birthday and his NHS fundra...
